Applesauce Cookies

Ingredients:
1.75 cups flour, sifted
half tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
quarter tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
half tsp. cloves, ground
half tsp. nutmeg
.75 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 cup thick sweetened applesauce
half cup raisins, optional

Procedure:
1. combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until smooth.
3. Blend in egg into creamed mixture.
4. Add dry ingredients alternating with applesauce into creamed mixture,
	beating after each addition.
5. Stir in raisins.
6. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, on a greased and
	floured cookie sheet.
7. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.
8. Remove from baking sheet onto cooling rack.


Quantity:
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
